NSCW stands for North Sea Codeworks: my one-person business in Rotterdam, building software in C and C++, Python and full-stack web.

I am a software and platform engineer who enjoys connecting application development with the systems underneath it. I combine a broad technical perspective with attention to detail, keeping in view what users and clients actually need.
I am curious and hands-on. I go for maintainable solutions, and I ask questions when assumptions need challenging.
Through NSCW I work for companies and teams looking for an experienced developer for a well-defined project, to build alongside them for a while, or for a second opinion on a technical decision.

No optimising on gut feeling. Profilers, benchmarks and logs decide where the time goes.

Code, tests and documentation your team can maintain without me. I want to be replaceable.
Honest about fit
If a job is not a good match for me, I say so straight away, and where I can, who would be.
